Thanksgiving

Last weekend during lunch all of my boys were sitting at one table devouring their plates full of food and laughing at shared jokes and stories. Jonesy started making crazy noises, rolling his eyes and fluttering his eyelashes at the rest of us. We were all full and warm and happy with each other. It was one of those moments where the everyday delights of life were tangible and spiritual.

Later that night in bed, Randy and I whispered that our meal was probably the apex of our parenting. Soon enough the boys will be scattered and sharing a meal will become an event unto itself. Our family will change, reshape and remake itself, grow and shrink. I hope we capture the moments, here and there, that mean everything. I am so very grateful to have them.
