Ana Tot – Voyage en Bonhomie

Ana Tot – Voyage en Bonhomie [Collection de l'Ombu, 2015]

***

ThreeA Tomorrow Kings 1/6 Lost Star Warrior TK CLEAN Sargent and other 12-inch Stormtroopers

Here’s an interesting take on one of my favorite subject matter by ThreeA. ThreeA presents their Tomorrow Kings – Lost Star Warrior TK CLEAN Sargent, Lost Star Warrior TK DIRTY Sargent, Lost Star Warrior TK CLEAN NOIR Sargent and Lost Star Warrior TK DIRTY NOIR Sargent. They all look suspiciously familiar because of the helmets they wear as the particular helmet in question has become quite the iconic symbol indeed!

According to threeAwiki: Tomorrow Kings are male clones, from the Popbot Universe who were created by Luthor Bean Jr. originally used for corporate takeovers. In the ThreeA Popbot Universe, I haven’t seen these Lost Star Warriors until now and I think they look pretty CoOL.

It seems there are at least four different types of Lost Star Warriors: TK CLEAN Sargent, TK DIRTY Sargent, TK CLEAN NOIR Sargent and TK DIRTY NOIR Sargent. Basically, one looks fresh out of the box and the other looks like it has been played with many times over and is now very much weathered and dirtied. A dirty warrior is easier to maintain because even if it gets dirtier, you couldn’t really tell but a clean warrior needs to be well taken care of as stains and spots will show up most easily. When it comes to displaying them, where would you put them? Do they go with the Star Wars display or the ThreeA Popbot Universe?

Mystical Forge to release Valley of the kings Anubis 1/6th collectible figure with sarcophagus

Anubis (Ancient Greek: Ἄνουβις) is the Greek name of a jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife in ancient Egyptian religion. Like many ancient Egyptian deities, Anubis assumed different roles in various contexts. One of his prominent roles was as a god who ushered souls into the afterlife. Anubis was depicted in black, a color that symbolized both rebirth and the discoloration of the corpse after embalming. Anubis is associated with Wepwawet (also called Upuaut), another Egyptian god portrayed with a dog’s head or in canine form, but with grey or white fur. Historians assume that the two figures were eventually combined.

Mystical Forge has announced the first figure from their Valley of the kings series, Anubis. Only 500 pieces will be produced worldwide, exclusively available to North America and Europe.

Jeffrey Snover AMA – A must watch!

I’ve just finished a most enjoyable couple of hours watching An AMA (ask me anything) interview with Jeffrey Snover, Microsoft Distinguished Engineer and inventor of PowerShell. Jeffrey and his teams) have brought about some awesome changes in terms of manageability of Windows systems. Anyone who has seen Jeffrey speak, know he is an amazing presenter – always full of interesting stories and a passion for helping us to be successful using Microsoft Tools. He is one of the best speakers at Microsoft, IMHO.

This two-part interview (part 1 here and part 2 here) has Jason Helmick ask Jeffrey a bunch of really interesting questions – ones that I see often when teaching PowerShell. If you’ve taken any of my PowerShell courses, many of these will not be new, but Jeffrey’s spin on the question is absorbing and his vantage point unique. Things like, what were the obstacles he faced delivering PowerShell, is the information about PowerShell V3 relevant to PowerShell v5, why the V1.0 in the $Pshome path for PowerShell V5?, etc. Stuff any respectable IT Pro should know.  My question would have been: Does he still carry the 20 dollar bill? He’ll know what that is a reference to!

I highly recommend taking some time to watch these two videos. Doubly so if you want to get a better understanding why PowerShell is the future of Windows management.
