Racing across the darkened rooftops of Gotham City, where the city lights can’t reach, and pursued by the screeching police sirens of the Gotham City P.D., Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, pauses to catch her breath and check on her evening’s prize, liberated from a luxurious jewelry store. Arching her back and looking at the full moon, Catwoman wonders if she will see the vigilante tonight. She smiles and purrs at the thought, running her gloved hands across the tight, black leather outfit she wears… if so, she does hope that he’ll enjoy the view.

Sideshow Collectibles and Yamato USA are pleased to present the very beautiful 13-inch (330.2mm) tall Selina Kyle Catwoman Statue. This sensually sculpted resin statue of DC Comics’ popular Catwoman character was imagined by renowned artist and visionary Luis Royo and sculpted by Shin Tanabe.

Preview Kotobukiya Super Street Fighter IV Juri Bishoujo Statue – Is that a spider on her back?

Seems like Street Fighter is getting a lot of attention lately, see previous posts HERE and HERE.

Juri Han (ハン・ジュリ Han Juri, Korean: 한주리 or 韓蛛俐) is a character in the Street Fighter series. She makes her debut in Super Street Fighter IV, where she is a main character in the storyline. She is 25 years old (as of Super Street Fighter IV) and is described as a somewhat mean and nasty member of S.I.N. Juri is the first South Korean character and the first Taekwondo user in the Street Fighter series, as well as the first true villainess.

This Kotobukiya Super Street Fighter IV Juri Bishoujo Statue follows in line with all their Bishoujo series. Bishōjo (美少女, literally “beautiful young girl”, also spelled bishoujo) is a Japanese term used to refer to young and pretty girls, usually below university age. Bishōjo characters are seen in almost all genres of anime and manga, especially in dating sims and visual novels (also known as bishōjo games), and harem anime and manga. One of the main draws of these series is typically the art and the attractive female characters.

Juri wears a purple dudou (a form of Chinese underwear) on her chest supported with eight straps that meet on her back, forming a spider pattern. She wears long, baggy, off-white colored trousers and purple tights, and long, fingerless gloves. Her fingernails and toenails are painted bright pink. She has dark hair styled into two horn-like bangs at the top of her head, which appear to be fastened with pink ribbons. She wears Taekwondo foot wraps on her feet.

Desired State Configuration Resource Kit–Wave 6

The PowerShell team has just released an update to the DSC resource kit – bringing the total number of DSC resources to over 80! While the bulk of the resources in the resource kit are ‘experimental’ – they seem to me to be very stable (continuing the PowerShell team’s ability to ship rich, useful, and reliable beta code).

And even better, the PowerShell team seem to have gone back to their old roots in terms of time to market. They appear to be releasing as they develop (and long may this continue). Thus, the new SafeHarbor DSC resource, this was finished after Wave 5 was released but before Wave 6 was ready so the PowerShell team published it separately, then publish it (with updates and bug fixes) a few weeks later in the Wave 6 drop. I can’t tell you how good this feels after so long under the cone of silence.

This latest drop has some very interesting resources, including the xChrome and xFirefox resources that help to deploy these two browsers. The Group resource shipped with PowerShell 4 is updated to provide support for cross-domain account lookups as well as for UPN-formatted names. The new xRemoteDesktopAdmin resource enables. Additionally, Wave 6 has a number of bug fixes to earlier waves. Again – the ability to get these fixes quickly is both useful and much appreciated.

The  DSC story is slowly coming clearer with both the July drop and these continuingly improving resources. And with Chef integrating with DSC, DSC’s future looks very rosy.  If you are looking to find out a bit more about DSC – I’ll be covering the basics on the PowerShell PowerCamp event in October.

Synchtoy–a free utility from Microsoft

I just stumbled across an interesting utility, called SyncToy. Version 2.1 of this tool is available, free, from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15155. This is the latest version of this tool, which was first published in 2009, so it’s not really new.

This highly customisable tool synchronises files and folders between file locations, kind of like a robocopy designed just to synch your files between two locations. You could use this to sync files such as photos, music files etc. with other computers. This might be easier than worrying about backup for these files.

To find out more about Synchtoy, or to ask questions – see the synch toy forum at: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=synctoy.

Pre-order Ultra Street Fighter IV – High Quality 13.75-inch Vega Collectible Figure by Tsume Art

You can pre-order this from Sideshow Collectibles

Vega, known in Japan as Balrog (バルログ Barurogu), is a fictional character from the Street Fighter fighting game series by Capcom. Vega is a masked, claw-wielding warrior from Spain who uses a personal fighting style combining Japanese ninjutsu, French savate, American Zipota and Spanish bullfighting, earning him the nickname the “Spanish Ninja”.

Vega first appears in the original Street Fighter II in 1992 as the second of four boss opponents the player faces at the end of the single-player mode, a group known as the Four Devas or Grand Masters. From Street Fighter II: Champion Edition (the second version of the game) and onward, Vega, along with the other three boss characters, became a playable character.

Sideshow Collectibles and Tsume Art are pleased to announce the Vega High Quality Figure from Ultra Street Fighter IV! Watch the famous Spanish Torero, named “Balrog” in the Japanese version, hanging on his cage just like in the game. Ready to launch his gorgeous Flying Barcelona Attack and armed with his claw, Vega seems to scorn his opponent above the stone-paved floor. The Vega collectible figure includes an additional unmasked head.

Vega is one of the few Street Fighter characters to constantly carry a weapon, a tekkō kagi, and the only character to do so in Street Fighter II. This claw is useful for both stabbing and slashing attacks, and gives him a very long range compared to most characters. It is the same type of weapon worn by Geki in the original Street Fighter, though longer.
Vega does not wear his expressionless mask to conceal his face or identity, as he removes it after winning fights, as well as in certain character-select images in various games he appears in. Instead, he wears the mask to protect his face from scarring or bruising during battle because he believes himself to be impossibly beautiful and is obsessively vain.

Pre-order Ultra Street Fighter IV – High Quality 11-inch Chun-Li Collectible Figure by Tsume Art

You can pre-order this from Sideshow Collectibles

“You ready for this?”

Chun-Li (春麗 Chun Rii, Chinese Simplified: 春丽) is a character in the Street Fighter series. She is the first female player character that appears in the series, and the first playable female character to appear in a 1-on-1 fighting game. Introduced in Street Fighter II, Chun-Li was the only female character in the game, as well as one of the youngest fighters, and while not as physically powerful as the other characters, she is by far the quickest.

Her most famous attack is the Hyakuretsukyaku (“Hundred Rending Legs”, commonly known as the “Lightning Kick”), where she repeatedly kicks her opponent from a tilted standing position with incredible speed.

Sideshow and Tsume Art are proud to present the famous Chinese fighter, Chun-Li, shown launching her Tenshôkyaku, and frozen in-motion with a cloud of dust underneath her. The detailed sculpture emphasizes the dynamic settings, motion and energy Tsume products are known for. The Chun-Li high quality collectible figure features her iconic outfit from Ultra Street Fighter IV with gilding and metallic textures. The base is a stone-paved floor with black beveled band.

Chun-Li’s appearance has differed several times in the Street Fighter series, as well as in official art and cameos she has made in other works. She is known for her very muscular thighs.
Chun-Li wears a qipao, a Chinese dress imported over from Manchuria that became popular among girls during the early 20th century. Her outfit is modified to allow a far wider range of movement than a normal qipao. She also wears white combat boots and a blue leotard with dark brown sheer pantyhose and blue panties underneath with her qipao. Her qipao is blue with golden accents.
